Daily NLDAS-2 data are available for the contiguous U.S. for January 1, 1979 to the present (with a 5-6 day lag).
The data contain maximum and minimum temperature (°C), precipitation (mm), and solar radiation (MJ/m2/day).
The output is formatted as XML to be used in the SALUS model.
Elevation is from GRIDMET at the nearest NLDAS grid point. If the location you provide is out of bounds, elevation will be zero.
